Each SPARTAN-IV is given a specific identification number when all data concerning their former names is erased. These numbers are unique to each individual Spartan, and unlike the system used for the SPARTAN-III's, the SPARTAN-IV System has converted back to the method used for the SPARTAN-II's. It's standard layout is SPARTAN-####, with the four # signs represented by an individual number code. Additionaly, this code is alternatively referred to as 'Sierra-###' most often when addressing a SPARTAN over potentially unsecure radios or in combat situations. Example - 'SPARTAN-1337' or 'Sierra-1337' (No you're not allowed to use 1337 as your code number.) Active Spartans:
