Combat knife:

The Combat Knife, occasionally referred to as the Close Quarters Combat Weapon System, is a multi-purpose knife used by the United Nations Space Command.

The UNSC's multi-purpose combat knife has a 20 centimetres (7.9 in) blade made of high carbon steel, an anti-flash non-reflective titanium carbide coating, edge coated for corrosion resistance and is 43.3 centimetres (1 ft 5.0 in) when sheathed. All UNSC troops are issued a combat knife for field and utility uses, as well as a backup weapon for desperate close combat situations. It is also balanced for throwing.

Humbler Stun Device:

The Humbler Stun Device, often called a "shock stick", is a purple colored, non-lethal electrical baton weapon used by the UNSC Marines and law enforcements mostly for "motivating" and/or subduing others in a temporarily painful way, but with no long-lasting effects. The humbler temporarily shorts out it's victim's nervous system, generally resulting in loss of voluntary urinary functions.

M7/Caseless Submachine Gun

The M7/Caseless Submachine Gun, more commonly known as the SMG, is a UNSC infantry and special ops weapon. One of the common weapons issued to marines in the field, it is also known to be used by SPARTANs, who are able to wield two at the same time due to their large hands. The SMG has a polymer handle, folding fore-grip, iron sights, and collapsible buttstock, as well as a titanium body. The SMG must be cocked before it can fire the first round. The charging handle is located on the right side of the gun and does not move during operation. Once the first round is fired, the gases from previous rounds force the breech to rotate and chamber a new round.

MA5C Individual Combat Weapon System:

The MA5C Assault Rifle is an air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine fed weapon designed for automatic fire. The MA5C is the third rifle in the MA5 Series, the workhorse of the UNSC Marine Corps that has been in service for more than 50 years. The MA5C has an attached electronics suite that provides information on rounds remaining in the magazine, compass heading, as well as several other "housekeeping" functions. The rifle performs well in a variety of environments especially given the perceived delicacy of the attached electronics suite. The MA5C in both offensive and suppressive situations remains the Marine Corps' most reliable weapon. When fired in short bursts the MA5C Rifle can be effective at hitting targets at longer ranges, and the rifle's armor penetrating ability makes it key for handling even the toughest of infantry. The MA5C Rifle is effective at killing armored infantry at short-to-medium range and its high rate of fire allows its user to spray an area with suppression fire in defensive situations. At close range, the MA5C is arguably deadlier than the M7/Caseless Submachine Gun, as the firepower is approximately equal. The MA5C also provides the user with an ammo count on its digital readout, as well a compass pointing toward the arbitrary magnetic "north" position. In the hands of someone who can control his trigger finger, the MA5C becomes a deadly weapon in close-quarter situations.

MA5K Carbine:

The MA5K is a carbine version of the standard MA5 Individual Combat Weapon System. The weapon is lighter and easier to carry than larger assault weapons. Aesthetically, it resembles a cross between an MA5 ICWS and a BR55 Battle Rifle, although the MA5K functions more like an assault rifle.

Based on current-era tactical philosophy, it is believed that the MA5K version was produced specifically for Special Operations forces because of its lighter frame, which allowed for more quick maneuvering and less visible profile, which suits the requirements of commando missions well. This would make it well suited for Marine Shock Troops and vehicle crews as well, since it would not take up much room inside a vehicle.

MA2B Assault Rifle:

The MA2B Assault Rifle is a cut-down version of the standard MA5B Individual Combat Weapon System. It can be considered as a "Carbine". Like its relatives in the MA5 family, the MA2B is tough and reliable. It has electric targeting, an ammo supply indicator, and a recoil-reduction system. The MA2B can deliver an impressive fifteen rounds per second and uses .390 caliber ammunition .

The MA2B features a larger magazine than its MA5 rifle counterparts. In addition to the standard Armor-Piercing rounds found in most Human firearms, it can use "Shredder" rounds, which is an anti-personnel ammunition type made from depleted uranium.

M392 Designated Marksman Rifle:

The M392 Designated Marksman Rifle is standard UNSC rifle equipped with a mounted optic cable capable of 3x magnification. It was the most effective medium to long range weapon present on Reach, and has since been brought back into service and re-modified for modern use. The weapon has a mounted optic capable of 3x magnification, and it possesses a fire selector switch located above the grip of the weapon. The M392 also has a magazine release button which is located directly above the magazine well, behind the trigger. The weapon has two ejection ports, one on the left and right hand sides of the weapon respectively, so that a left or right-handed shooter can fire the weapon.

The DTM/Law Enforcement is a version of the DTM Shotgun Series used by Law Enforcement agencies. It features a solid stock and no pistol grip. The Shotgun is very similar to the 20th and 21st century Remington Model 870 and Benelli M3 Shotgun.

The lack of a pistol grip might be a downside in military combat, but this allows the user to hold the shotgun with one hand comfortably.

SRS99C-S2 AMB Sniper Rifle:

The SRS99C-S2 AMB is a semi-automatic UNSC sniper rifle that fires 14.5mm x 114mm APFSDS (Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot) rounds from a 4 round magazine. It is designed in the conventional layout, so the mag and operating system are located in front of the trigger.

This powerful weapon is gas-operated and therefore must be cocked to load the first round. Once the first round is fired, the gases from the previous round forces the bolt back and forth and continues to do so until the mag is empty. Once the mag is empty, the bolt (although not illustrated in-game) locks back. After a new mag is inserted, the bolt must be pushed forward to chamber a new round. The bolt used to chamber the round is located on the left side of the weapon and moves during operation. The ejection port is located on the right side of the weapon and possesses a dirt cover.

Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle:

The M6 Spartan Laser is a man-portable, shoulder-fired, directed energy weapon used by the UNSC. When the trigger is pulled, a red targeting laser is painted on-target accompanied by an audible whine as the weapon cycles up. The Spartan Laser will then charge for approximately three seconds before discharging the main laser. As the Spartan Laser charges, the charging tone gets noticeably louder and increases in pitch up until the laser is fired. The firing sequence can be aborted without discharging the battery as long as the weapon is not actually fired; for example, if the target moves out of sight or the operator needs to displace. The laser is capable of penetrating several enemies or vehicles, and has a small blast radius, injuring targets within two meters of the point of impact and toppling light vehicles. It has an offline sequence between shots while it (presumably) cools down (approximately 2-4 seconds), and is highly effective at destroying enemy vehicles.

AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun:

The AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun is a standard Gatling-style medium machine gun, used by the UNSC for offensive and defensive purposes. It is also more powerful than the UNSC's stationary turret, the M247 GP Machine Gun.

For defensive purposes, it can be mounted on a tripod, but when used for an assault it can be irreversibly and quickly detached from its tripod. In its unmounted form, the weapon has a limited ammunition capacity of 200 rounds and takes about a second to "spin up" before reaching its highest rate of fire. Pulling the trigger once will cause the gun to fire a maximum of two rounds at a moderate rate; holding it down builds up the rate of fire to a higher rate.

M247 General Purpose Machine Gun:

The M247 General Purpose Machine Gun is usually placed near defensive positions in and around UNSC bases and fortifications. It is evidently chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO standard cartridge. There are several variants of the M247 GMPG:

1. Fixed - This variant of the turret has a slab of armor plating to protect the operator from incoming fire, and is used as a defensive weapon by the UNSC Marine Corps.
2. Portable - This variant is man-portable and is equipped with a folding tripod or bipod for rapid relocation and setup in the field. To lighten the load, the protective plate is removed.
3. Pelican-mounted - This variant is secured via a mount hanging from the ceiling of the Pelican's troop bay.
4. Elephant-mounted - This variant is mounted on M312 Heavy Recovery Vehicles. It can only be operated only when the Elephant is in lockdown mode.

M247H Heavy Machine Gun:

The M247H is an air-cooled, gas-operated, electrically fired, linkless-fed weapon. It can be used in both anti-personnel and anti-vehicle roles. It is most often seen mounted on stationary tripods and used as a defensive weapon, but can also be carried by those strong enough to efficiently operate it. An M247H is mounted on either side of most UH-144 Falcons.

Like many other support weapons used by the UNSC, the M247H is fitted with a metal shield near the rear of its barrel to protect the user. Some versions, including the one mounted on the UH-144 Falcon, lack this feature.

Flamethrowers:

NA4 Flamethrower:

The NA4 Flamethrower is a type of flammable defoliant projector used by the UNSC Marine Corps that was used prominently in battles during at least 2531. Similar in function and use to its later successor, the M7057 Defoliant Projector, the NA4 was much larger and bulkier and, rather than attaching its fuel tank to the frame of the projector, the tank was carried on the back of the user, allowing greater capacity. In addition, the weapon used a range of flammable defoliants, to compensate for the variety of atmospheric and gravitational conditions it could be used in. It continued to serve alongside the smaller and more portable M7057. During its service time, it was mainly used by Hellbringer Marine squads.

As a flamethrower, its primary function was to remove entrenched enemies. As such, the users of these weapons have a high attrition rate, despite the devastating damage they can inflict, due to the exposed fuel tanks that were a huge weak spot. Also, the NA4 is known to be compatible with the M301 40mm Grenade Launcher

M7057/Defoliant Projector:

The M7057/DP, is a standard chemical flamethrower, which projects and ignites a stream of a volatile, semi-liquid fuel. Flamethrowers are cumbersome and relatively difficult to tactically employ. Their main use in the UNSC is for clearing brush, debris, and burning garbage, though they are also given to soldiers when entering close quarters buildings or dug out bunkers.

M319 Individual Grenade Launcher:

The M319 IGL (more formally Individual Grenade Launcher, Caliber 40mm, M319) is a single shot, break-action, grenade launcher firing 40mm ammunition. Because of its simplicity, ruggedness, and firepower, the M319 has been a mainstay within the UNSC Army’s arsenal since its official adoption in 2263.

The IGL also has a tracking function which is useful when trying to target enemy infantry or vehicles that are fleeing; as long as the enemy is in range, and the targeting reticule is red (which is the indication of in-range enemies), using either firing modes will ensure in a perfect shot as long as the cursor remains on the enemy at all times the grenade will track the target. Also, the grenade emits a form of EMP, similar to that of the plasma pistol, that can temporarily disable vehicles and energy shields, but only when used in the manual detonation mode.

M301 40mm Grenade Launcher

The M301 40mm Grenade Launcher, also known as the "forty mike-mike" among troops was a United Nations Space Command weapon designed to fire explosive grenades. It can be attached to the MA5B and MA5C Assault Rifles and NA4 Flamethrower.

In assault rifles, the launcher is fitted under the barrel, replacing the flashlight attachment standard to the MA5 series. Hellbringers were equipped with this to launch flashbang grenades used to stun and surprise enemy troops.

Explosives:

102mm High-Explosive Anti-Tank:

The 102mm High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) shaped charge can be fired from M19 SSM Rocket Launcher and M41 Rocket Launcher. As the name reveals, they are primarily designed to penetrate Tank and other vehicular armor, such as that on Warthogs.

C-7 Foaming Explosive:

C-7 Foaming Spray is a highly explosive compound that is used in demolitions by UNSC forces. It is comprised of various chemicals that react to a signal electrical current shock sent through a detonation switch. It is liquid in vacuum, but once contact with a hard surface and oxygen occurs, it becomes a foaming, semi-solid adhesive resin.

C-12 Shaped Charge:

The UNSC C-12 Shaped-charges or C-12 SCs are used mainly for heavy demolitions and can also be used as weapons. This compound is extremely dangerous and very volatile. A small 4x4x4 inch cube alone can level a five story building in seconds. It's solid, but malleable enough where it can be shaped or bent into different forms to stick to surfaces better and fit into tight spots and is detonated with electric-shock detonator sticks or remote detonators.

C-12 is also hefted in medium sized backpacks called "Damage Packs" or "Blow Packs". Two Damage Packs contain enough C-12 to blow through three meters of UNSC standard armor plating.

Fougasse:

A Fougasse is an improvised weapon that generally takes the appearance of a barrel or tube that is buried about a foot beneath the ground. It has Grenades or some other form of propellant in the bottom of it and can be filled with Napalm ("Fire" Fougasses) or spent shell casings and various bits of metal ("Shrapnel" Fougasses). They can be remote detonated, sending fire and shrapnel upwards, cutting down anything above them for up to several meters. Normally they are used to destroy ground targets, but they have been used to destroy Covenant Banshees. It was activated when the fliers were still close to the ground on a strafing run so the blast hit them perfectly.

M168 Demolition Charge:

The M168 Demolition Device is an explosive ordnance that is used to destroy, or clear large structures. Because of the nature of the device, it is more commonly employed as a device to destroy buildings, or other structures, then an explosive used to destroy the enemy itself.

The M168 has three vital components to it, the first is the explosives pack itself which can be attached to any surface by using an adhesive strip on the back of the pack. The second component is the charge, the charge itself is also an explosive pack, the only major difference is the front panel of the charge has an arming handle and a keypad. From here the detonation code and countdown timer can be set and authorized, once the code has been verified the charging handle can then be rotated to its "armed" position. Once in the armed position an arming signal is sent to the other explosives within range. The third component is the wireless card which will locate and connect to a terminal or heads up display and wait to receive the detonation signal.

M9 High-Explosive Dual-Purpose Grenade:

The M9 High-Explosive Dual-Purpose Grenade (abbreviated M9 HE-DP Grenade), also known as the Fragmentation Grenade, Frag Grenade, or simply Frag, is a UNSC-issued grenade that functions in a manner very similar to contemporary hand grenades.

The grenade has a hard metal casing, with a frangible design meant to break apart into small, regular shards. This surface creates consistent, reliable fragmentation patterns for the grenade, rather than randomly rupturing along metallurgical faults. The grid-shaped casing houses a charge of high-explosive fitted with a mechanical primer. When the charge detonates, it shatters the grenade's casing, sending shrapnel flying away at high velocity.

Satchel Charge:

The Satchel Charge is a United Nations Space Command ground explosive. Marines use satchel charges to clear large, reinforced doors, or obstacles out of the way, although they are also often used as offensive weapons to dislodge dug-in enemy troops. They contain C9 plastic explosive and can penetrate through half a meter of Titanium-A. It is standard equipment for UNSC Marines.

Smoke Grenade:

Smoke-producing flares are used for a variety and diversity of reasons by the UNSC. Different reasons have different colors of smoke attached to them.

* Signal Flare: "Smokers" are used to alert allies of a friendly position. They utilize thick, green or white smoke.

* Smoke Canister: These are used to signal for pickup after a mission, or a request for an equipment drop, or even a need for emergency evacuation. They create thick, blue or red smoke. These are also referred to as "smoke grenades".

Sonic Grenade:

The grenade is a non-lethal weapon used by Drill Instructors to teach Marines to keep their eyes peeled, hitting them with a loud sound that hurts their ears rather than actually causing them bodily harm. It would be one of the nicer booby traps used by DIs.

Thermite-Carbon Cord:

Thermite-Carbon Cord, or T-C-C, is a type of incendiary device used by the UNSC. It consists of a long wire of a thermite-carbon alloy, with a charge used to ignite it. Once the charge is activated, a large amount of heat energy is released, and the subsequent burst of heat is capable of enormous amounts of anti-material damage melting through solid metal.

Thermite Grenade:

Thermite Grenades are a type of explosive incendiary ordnance used by the UNSC. The flames from the thermite grenade can burn underwater.

Thermite grenades rely on a chemical process between metal powders and oxides to create high temperatures, with no explosion. Commonly, Aluminum and Iron (III) Oxide are used in the reaction. Thermite can reach temperatures an upward of 2500°C (4500°F), and is often used to melt through a wide range of things extremely quickly. However, thermite is rarely used for anti-infantry roles, and is more practical to use in anti-material roles due to quickly disabling components with few ways of interfering with the reaction.

Thermite shaped charges are also used to quickly gain entrance to locked areas.

Flashbang Grenade:

A Flashbang Grenade (also called a stun grenade) is a special type of grenade used by the UNSC. Unlike Fragmentation Grenades, these grenades are not intended for lethal use. Flashbangs use chemical reactions to produce an extremely bright flash of light and a very loud concussion blast when deployed, stunning targets, but doing very little physical damage to them. The primary purpose of a stun grenade is to temporarily blind and deafen the enemy. If the victim directly observes the flash, a still frame of what is observed by the victim will be seen for up to ten seconds, at which point their eyes will have returned to their unstimulated state.
