2-042 Iridescent Logic UNSC Navy Starships classifications. Starfighters: C709 Longsword-class Interceptor: The C709 Longsword-class Interceptor is the main single ship of the United Nations Space Command Defense Force, and is a mainstay starfighter, filling a variety of roles simultaneously. Described as both a fighter and an interceptor, the Longsword is intended to engage enemy fighters, dropships, and boarding craft that are en route to UNSC capital ships. The Longsword has been seen performing a variety of roles, making for an extremely versatile craft, and is relatively inexpensive to produce. They are capable of holding their own even against the technologically superior Seraph-class fighters used by the Covenant. The Longsword is also used to escort UNSC dropships as they deliver their passengers and cargo to planet surfaces or to larger ships. The Longsword is also used in attack runs against Covenant capital ships, delivering high-yield missiles, Shiva-class nuclear warheads, or even free-floating Moray space mines to or near their targets. They can also be used in planetary environments by functioning as fighter-bombers, destroying ground targets from the air, and escorting capital ships. The inside of the Longsword presents a small corridor leading to the rear, stairs, and a higher corridor to the cockpit. In the two corridors, there are several equipment lockers, along with two secondary crew stations. The cockpit consists of two pilots' chairs and two auxiliary crew stations. With a known total crew complement of four, along with the equipment and weapon lockers, the ship presents itself as less of a fighter-bomber and more of a dedicated bomber and close support craft. The Longsword utilizes two main fusion engines which are discernible on the exterior of the craft. They are able to function in space and they are strong enough to reach Earth escape velocity. It is nuclear-powered, and the electrical energy is used to power an electric drive. There are multiple RCS points for maneuvering. The Longsword's main weapons are 110mm rotary cannons, as well as 120mm ventral guns, for dog-fighting Seraph fighters in space and strafing ground targets when the need arises. This versatile fighter can be armed with an assortment of secondary weapons including ASGM-10 Missiles, bombs, Moray Space Mines, Scorpion Missiles, and can even heft a single Shiva-class Nuclear Missile. It can also be remotely piloted, carrying a single Shiva nuclear warhead to devestate such craft as a Covenant Supercarrier without pilot loss.
YSS-1000, 'Sabre': The YSS-1000 is a space-based fighter which can be launched vertically from a ground-based launch platform using a system of detachable multi-stage rockets to propel itself out of a planet's gravitational pull and atmosphere. The fighter's armament includes twin autocannons as well as missile pods with locking abilities. The Sabre also possesses energy shielding technology. The Sabre is capable of snap and barrel rolls and its targeting computer can identify enemy contacts from a long distance, as well as show the distance to a target.
Open Frame 92/Extra-Vehicular Activity, 'Booster Frame': The Open Frame 92/Extra-Vehicular Activity is a fighter in service with the UNSC Navy, developed by the ONI as a prototype. They were specifically assigned for Extra-Vehicular Activity and Special Operations roles, dropped from hooks within the hangars of specialized UNSC ships. The ship itself has no sealed cockpit, so a pressurized suit must be worn in order to operate the vehicle. The Booster Frame is a heavily-armed, open-frame incursive vehicle specifically intended for deep-space use and close-quarters environments. Its weapon loadout is designed primarily for "Disrupt/Overwhelm/Adapt" - a technique employed to deal with the twin problems of field-effect shielding and armor plating. When used in concert, the combination of EMP, explosive and projectile force can make surgical incisions in large-scale, otherwise impenetrable defenses. It was specifically engineered for use by augmented SPARTAN-II units and is only usefully operable in zero/low-G and zero/low-atmosphere environments. It has no aerodynamic properties beyond its basic mass and thrust quotient. Booster Frames are deployed directly into vacuum through a specialized hydraulic winch system which extends from a ventral bay on a select number of modified UNSC warships and undisclosed ONI special service vehicles. The Booster Frame is also protected, at least partially, by energy shields. The Booster Frame is extremely heavily armed, leading to its classification as ammunition rather than a vehicle. In addition to the weaponry, the Booster Frame is equipped with chaff launchers to disrupt Plasma Torpedoes. Scanning devices can also be launched from the Booster Frames onto starship hulls, to scan for possible signal transmitters. - 1 M92 Principle Gauss Cannon - a powerful Magnetic Accelerator Weapon that runs along the length of the Booster Frame. As a drawback, it requires a long time to recharge.
- 12 MITV Pods - contained in the Booster Frame's "wings". These pods contain numerous small missiles, capable of inflicting heavy damage upon Covenant shields and starship hulls alike.
- 2 80mm Ball-Mounted Rotary Cannons - mounted on the undersides of the Booster Frame's "wings".
- 1 M41 ELAAGat - Extended Light Anti-Aircraft Gun firing gas-jacketed armor piercing depleted uranium rounds. Contained within the rear part of the frame, this turret is capable of being operated by another soldier who can stand at the back and provide covering fire for the pilot. The turret is a variation of the M41 Vulcan Light Anti-Aircraft Gun, designed to be operable in vacuum. It fires shells with pressurized atmospheric contents to ensure an explosive percussion in a vacuum or other challenging environment.

UNSC Support Ship Classification: A Support Starship is a starship classification within the United Nations Space Command whose primary purposes were not to stay in combat, but to play more specialized roles - covert infiltration and exfiltration, intelligence gathering, electronic warfare, supply of fleets, etc.
Calypso-class Exfiltration Craft: The Calypso-class Exfiltration Craft is a United Nations Space Command starship classification. These fulfill a purpose similar to Black Cat-class Subprowlers. Technical specifications: - Length: Over 50 metres (160 ft).
- Slipspace Drive: Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine.
- Shielding: None.
- Navigation system: Navigation computer.
- Countermeasures: Stealth, Electronic warfare unit.
- Armament: None.
- Complement: None
Black Cat-class Subprowler: Black Cat-class Subprowlers are a classification of small exfiltration ships within the UNSC. Designated as "sub-prowlers," they have extremely limited capabilities and are used mostly as exfiltration craft to escape combat situations with stealth and ease. The ships have Slipspace capacitors but only enough charge to use them for about four hours. Black Cats are routinely used on high-risk ops so that UNSC Special Forces can retreat quickly and easily. They were the replacement of the Calypso-class and could hold 38-Spartan IIIs. Technical specifications: - Length- Over 50 metres (160 ft).
- Slipspace Drive- Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine.
- Shielding- None.
- Navigation system- NAVCOM.
- Countermeasures- Stealth (infiltration).
- Armament- None or minimal.
- Complement- None.
- Cargo capacity- 38 Spartan III's (or anything near roughly that in other manpower.
UNSC Prowler: The UNSC Prowler is a stealth corvette classification within the United Nations Space Command. They are used exclusively by the Office of Naval Intelligence and are crewed by select ONI personnel. In a similar role to its namesake, it is used to gather electronic intelligence, and its primary role is to stay hidden while safely gathering such intelligence, not to charge into battle, as that would invariably be an irreversibly fatal tactic. Because of its tactical value and potential to change the outcome of any given combat situation, every UNSC battlegroup has at least one Prowler assigned to its ranks. The Prowler's only combat role, beside active combat monitoring and recording, is discreetly laying minefields of stealthed nuclear HORNET Mines in orbital regions. Enemy ships that unknowingly enter these minefields can be destroyed by a single Prowler, allowing the remainder of the UNSC forces to move in and finish off the survivors with MAC strikes and Archer missiles. Technical specifications: - Length- 162 metres (530 ft).
- Engine unit(s)- Equipped.
- Slipspace Drive- Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine.
- Power plant- Equipped.

- Shiva-class Nuclear Missiles.
- Complement: None.
- Crew: 90 crewmen.
- Minimum crew: 43 crew, or 3 SPARTANs.
UNSC Stealth Cruiser: The Stealth Cruiser was a starship classification in the UNSC fleet. Stealth Cruisers are the largest Prowler-class vessels built, the length of a UNSC Destroyer. Few of these ships have ever been made and put into active duty, due primarily to the sheer expense of manufacturing and maintaining the stealth ablative coating that renderes it invisible from radar, other sensors, and limited visual camouflage. The UNSC Stealth Cruiser is constructed in parts and then assembled in deep space. It is completely radar-invisible and when the baffled engines ran below 30%, the craft was dark as interstellar space. These ships were the wartime field command and control platform for the UNSC Naval Intelligence units. Very few people have ever seen one of these ship and even less have actually been aboard these vessels. The inside of the ships were just as mysterious, with stainless-steel walls brushed to a white reflective shield, as was most of the ship's insides. The floors oddly enough weren't the same white color as the walls, being described as metal grates. They also contained a conference room that acted as a Faraday cage, completely sealed off from the rest of the ship, known as "The Cage" or "Odin's Eye"; where meetings of an extremely classified nature could be conducted in absolute secrecy. One of the most secure locations in the universe for Humanity. Technical specifications: - Length- 485 metres (1,590 ft).
- Mass- 8000 tons (16,000,000 lbs).
- Slipspace Drive- Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine.
- Hull- Resistant to several pulse laser bursts.

Freighter: Freighter is a classification for interstellar vessels. These ships are neither armed nor well protected, they consist almost entirely of cargo bay space for their transported goods. Many Freighters are operated entirely by computers and managed by planetary AIs, however some are still crewed by humans. In the UNSC, many freighters are maintained, mostly to move supplies, food, and equipment to and from fringe worlds in the Outer Colonies. Most of these are maintained not by the UNSC Navy, but by the UNSC Department of Commercial Shipping. Some private companies and individuals maintain their own freighters. These ships can also sometimes be armed and used as warships, particularly by militant Rebel factions, such as the Eridanus Rebels. A common type of freighter is simply a large cargo container attached magnetically to a Propulsion pod which contains the Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine and sublight maneuvering systems. These containers can travel up and down space elevator strands, allowing for fast loading and management of cargo. Once on top of the elevator, the propulsion pod is attached to the container, effectively turning it into a slipspace-capable freighter. A colonial high-capacity space tether system can have dozens of propulsion pods and cargo containers operational at a time, all managed by a shipping operations AI. These freighters are mostly automated, and human crews are a rarity. Mail between colonies is often delivered on the freighters' on-board memory.

Light Capital Warships: The light capital warship is the smallest warship classification in the UNSC. This class is the most common warship in the UNSC. The UNSC light warships include the Corvette, UNSC Frigate/Light Frigate, Stealth Cruiser, and UNSC Destroyer.
UNSC Corvette: The corvettes are the smallest class of warship in the UNSC Navy, and do not carry any fighters. Fast-attack corvettes are known to have a modest hangar bay with room for only one SKT-13 Shuttlecraft, basically a larger version of the Bumblebee Lifeboat used to ferry UNSC material and personnel to and from various locations or ships. The corvettes are also known as being one of the fastest ships in the UNSC Navy. Like most other Slipspace-capable UNSC ships, corvettes possess Cryo-bays. - Length- 160 meters (520 ft)
UNSC Light Frigate: The only role of the light frigate was almost like a Prowler; to stay hidden, gather intel, and to deploy a small amount of troops. It also can be used as fleet support. It looks similar to conventional Frigates but possibly have lighter armor and weapons. Technical specifications: - Slipspace Drive- Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine
- Shielding- None
- Hull- 60 centimetres (2.0 ft) of Titanium-A armor
- Sensor systems- Long range
- Armament-
- MAC Gun (1)
- Archer Missile Pods
- Shiva-class Nuclear Missiles (3)
- Complement-
- Marine Shock Trooper contingent
- Pelican Transports (7 or more)
UNSC Frigate: The UNSC Frigate is a warship classification in the UNSC Navy. Although it significantly lacks the amount of armor, armament, and firepower compared to its larger cousin, the UNSC Destroyer, the frigate is smaller and thus more maneuverable. It is cheaper to produce, allowing greater numbers to be fielded against the Covenant. With current human technology, UNSC frigates are barely considered a match for even the smallest of Covenant warships. It is outrun even by smaller Covenant ships, its armor is susceptible to enemy pulse lasers and plasma torpedos, and it is outfitted with substandard weaponry. Only en masse does the UNSC frigate give any UNSC fleet element an advantage against even inferior numbers of Covenant vessels. The Bridge of the Frigate is located in the uppermost part of the ship, in the section at the stern-most tip of the MAC gun shaft. The commanding officer's chair is located behind the two primary consoles within the bridge. There are numerous other consoles located at the sides of the room. There are four bridge stations: Navigation, Operations, Weapons, and Communications. A UNSC Frigate also possess 12 SOEIV bays, located in the rear of the ship, which facilitate the deployment of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. UNSC Frigates are capable of hovering in an atmosphere and even landing. They also have either a garage or cargo bay in their rear section which is capable of extending out of the ship's ventral side to deploy vehicles or cargo directly to the ground. A Frigate can also carry up to three Pelican dropships in this rear section in addition to several ground vehicles. Technical specifications: - Engine unit(s)- Deuterium nuclear fusion reactor
- Slipspace Drive- Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine
- Shielding- None
- Hull- 60 centimetres (2 ft 0 in) Titanium-A battleplate
- Length- 478 metres (1,568 ft 3 in)

- M831 Troop Transport
- AV-14 Attack VTOLs
- Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicles
- Clarion Spy Drones (3)
UNSC Destroyer The Destroyer is a warship classification in the UNSC Navy. Fast, maneuverable, and designed for long-term endurance, destroyers were intended to escort larger vessels, such as the Marathon- and Halcyon-class cruisers. Although some vessels of this classification are only seven meters longer than a UNSC Frigate, they have almost double the mass. Unlike most ships in the fleet, destroyers carry no single-ship fighters; rather, their large mass comes from the one and a half to two meters of Titanium A battle plate that covers the ship. Dr. Catherine Halsey once stated that destroyers are essentially the same as frigates except for this additional armor. The destroyer's armament comes in the form of two Magnetic Accelerator Cannons, twenty-six oversized Archer Missile pods, and three Shiva-class Nuclear Missiles. For defense against starfighters, the Destroyer carries eight point-defense autocannons. Technical specifications:- Engine unit(s)- Deuterium nuclear fusion reactor
- Slipspace Drive- Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine
- Shielding- None
- Hull- 1.5 - 2 meters Titanium-A battleplate
- Length- (Varies between classes) c.485 metres (1,590 ft)

Cruiser Class: The Cruiser is a type of heavily-armed and armored capital warship in the UNSC, emphasizing weaponry and armor over starfighter complements. The UNSC, uses cruisers as their heaviest warships.
Marathon-class Cruiser: The Marathon-class Cruiser is a class of UNSC Navy warships. At 1,190 meters, they are some of the largest and most powerful warships ever utilized by humanity, built as a replacement for their aging Halcyon-class Cruisers. Their numbers were limited, and they were usually commanded by the highest ranking officers. These warships replaced the Halcyon-class Cruisers. These behemoths, at 1,190 meters, are slightly under three times the length of a UNSC Frigate. They are also known for their heavy armor; they can survive multiple plasma impacts and are able to sustain far greater damage than any UNSC Frigate or UNSC Destroyer. Due to their size, durability and firepower (2 MACs as well as dozens of oversized Archer missile pods), these massive vessels are commanded by UNSC Admirals and primarily serve as command/capital ships. Due to their diminishing numbers, and the onslaught of the genocidal Covenant, further numbers of these great cruisers have been reassigned to the defense of the Inner Colonies. They were considered extremely valuable in terms of firepower and armor, and it was seen to by the UNSC admiralty that they were only used in the most dire and occasional of circumstances. Technical specifications: - Length- 1,190 metres (3,900 ft).
- Mass- 100,000 tons (200,000,000 lbs).
- Engine unit(s)- Deuterium Core Reactor.

- Complement-
- 24 C709 Longsword-class interceptors.
- Pelican dropships.
- Marines.
- HEVs.
- Warthogs.
- Scorpions.
- Hornets .

Carrier Classification: A Carrier is a general starship classification, with warships of different sub-classifications within the UNSC. Such a vessel is formally defined as "a large warship carrying fighters equipped with flight decks for takeoffs and landings". There are likely multiple classes of carrier within this general designation. The general combat role of a carrier in combat is to deploy starfighters, such as Longswords. They also possess weapons themselves, not just starfighters, to protect themselves in combat when their fighters are unable to defend them. In planetary occupation missions, carriers are mobile deployers of ground forces to subjugate an enemy planet, launching dropships and top-cover fighters.
Phoenix-class Colony Ship The Phoenix-class Colony Ship is a ship classification within the United Nations Space Command. The Phoenix-class starship, among others, are often modified into warships. The refitted ships carry vehicles, troops, and supplies as support for ground forces. It also carries the resources necessary to build bases. The Phoenix-class is 2.5 km long, making it one of the largest known UNSC ships in the organization's naval history. The Phoenix-class ships were designed to transport thousands of colonists from Earth, or one of the other Inner Colonies, as well as terraforming equipment to alter the existing atmosphere and/or biosphere to become compatible with human habitation. Once the terraforming is completed, the colonists settle the planet. On Harvest, the Skidbladnir's fusion reactor was used to power the first settlement, Utgard and its data processing storage housing the Agricultural Operations AI, Mack was also utilized. The ship's AI, Loki, became the Planetary Security Intelligence, sharing a core with Mack, covertly monitoring the colony for trouble for the UNSC. This was a common fate for colony ships during the colonization of other worlds. Once converted, a Phoenix-class ship can become an extremely effective troop transport and orbital support ship, carrying thousands of Marines, significant supplies and equipment, and, if equipped with a Magnetic Accelerator Cannon during conversion, is able to attack ground targets from orbit in support of ground operations. It can also use Pelican and Albatross dropships and Pods to deploy ground forces and establish bases of operation. It is even able to participate in atmosphere to a degree. However, despite the conversion of the Phoenix-class from a Colony transport ship to a warship, it is still underpowered as far as most warships go; the super-structure of the Colony Ship is vulnerable to light pulse laser fire, and despite the addition of armor plating, the outer edges of the hull were ripped away when one of these ship nearly collided with a Covenant Destroyer of about the same size. The Magnetic Accelerator Cannon can fire multiple times consecutively, but each round is less powerful than the cannons used by other UNSC warships. Technical specifications- - Navigation System- A.I or Navigation Computer.
- Length- 2.5 kilometers (7,920 feet).
- Engine Unit(s)- Eight thruster units.
- Hull- Titanium-A.

UNSC carrier UNSC carriers are armed with a single Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, 300 Archer missiles, and two fusion rockets. They carry large numbers of Longsword-class interceptors, as well as numerous Pelican-class dropships, as fits their role as carriers. They also transport contingents of Marines and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and likely transport vehicles for said ground forces. UNSC carriers are three kilometers long, nearly the length of a Covenant Reverence-class cruiser. This makes them one of the largest ships used by the UNSC Navy. Technical specifications: - Length- 3,000 metres (9,800 ft).
- Width- 120 metres (393 ft 8 in).
